Shop Small!

Shop Small

True confession: I have never shopped on Black Friday. Never. I have made the mistake and accidentally stumbled into WalMart late on Black Friday forgetting it’s the day, only to witness the aftermath but that doesn’t really count.

If you’re like me, Small Business Saturday is for you! Our friends at American Express sent a big box of goodies.

Shop with us this Saturday, November 28. We’ll be giving away these great tote bags to the first 9 folks who come in on Saturday and spend $75 or more.

You may be wondering why 9 and not 10. Yes, American Express sent 10 bags. No, I did not keep one for myself. Bag #10 could be yours!

Our 24 Days of SWAK promotion begins next Tuesday. This is the opportunity for you to blow the dust off your keyboard, make sure you remember your login info to comment on our blog, and warm up for the big event. If you cannot remember your login from last year, shoot me an email at swak @ swakknit.com and I’ll look it up.

Leave a comment on this post and we’ll select at random one lucky person to receive a Shop Small tote bag. Any comment will do, but if you’re at a loss for words here’s a few suggestions:

  • Hello
  • Hey You
  • Yippee
  • Why you’re looking forward to the 24 Days of SWAK
  • I really want to win this tote bag

If you’re new to the party, here’s how it works. Each day I blog from December 1 through Christmas Eve with holiday cheer, giveaways, free patterns, delicious recipes, holiday tips and much more. As usual, I have lots of fun things in store for you again this year!  Much of the fun involves audience participation.

In order to keep viagra ads and porn sites from posting comments all over our blog, you have to create a simple account with a user name and password to comment and participate. This also gives me the opportunity to make sure things are working as they should in that we don’t want a repeat of the dreaded commenting snafu of 2013.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We’ll be closed for turkey eating on Thursday, but otherwise will be open our usual hours (Monday-Saturday from 10 to 5). Don’t fall out of your chair, but this year I’ll be fusing my favorite French cuisine with traditional Thanksgiving grub. Wish me luck channeling Opal Granny in my attempt to recreate her dressing and gravy. I’ll let you know how that goes.

You have until midnight on Monday, November 30 to leave your comment. I’ll announce the winner of the tote bag on December 1.

  1. Oh my! Is it true that 24 days of SWAK is almost here?!?
I love your generosity! Thank you for doing this every year!
It seems I get up to your area about twice per year…….wish I lived closer!
Being there virtually is better than not at all though! I look forward to each day’s post & become overwrought if I somehow miss a day, especially when I discover my lapse shortly after midnight! But another day is nigh & soon my excitement builds again. I think I’ve won something every year I’ve participated so far. And what better excuse to come, when I tell my husband we must go to SWAK in Guthrie to redeem my prize! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME! (I always find extras to “buy” each & every time!) Some of the totes are wonderful gift bags & the local made items, bracelet purses for my granddaughters for example, are perfect as I run out of time & inspiration for stocking stuffers! We mustn’t forget the food items available too, sauces, jellies & much more! I love finding those special “Made in Oklahoma” items!

  2. Keely, I love seeing what you come up with every year during the 24 Days of SWAK! You always seem to out do yourself so let’s get this party started!!

  3. Whew! Didn’t have to try and remember my password as the ol’ computer did it for me 🙂

Yea for 24 Days of SWAK! This has really become a daily highlight in December at our house. My little knitter asks about the posts each day and I love sharing them with her. Thank you for all the work you put into it each year! Can’t wait till morning…..
