So you may be left wondering what’s up with the rooster? We haven’t suddenly taken an interest in Asian folklore, however when we discovered it was the year of the rooster it seemed fitting.

When we renovated the shop last summer, I replaced the bells on both the back and front door. We stuck with a traditional chime for the front door. After flipping through all of the many ridiculous other chime choices we settled on a crowing rooster for the back door, for no other reason that it made us crack-up laughing. That’s never a bad thing.

We even had a real live rooster taking up residence in our store room one day for a rooster swap between 2 customers. It is never boring around here, that’s for sure.

So while trying to come up with a fun theme for a spring party, Yarn-a-Doodle-Doo seemed like a hoot. My mind immediately started thinking of all the cuisine possibilities. The Chinese, French and farm folk of America all have an affinity for the rooster. After all, he symbolizes passion, luck and protection. Mr. Rooster is alright with me.

Hope you can join us on March 3rd for Yarn-a-Doodle-Doo. It’s going to be quite a bash, sign up today!
