Introducing Urth Yarns. We are so excited about this new line of hand dyed natural yarns. The company paid us a visit late in the season. We were already overflowing with merchandise, and I was just trying to be nice when I agreed to take a meeting. But once they started pulling out these beautiful yarns, we just couldn’t resist.
This superwash merino is dyed naturally using roots, fruits, and nuts with colors named after their dye source. While Pantone may have picked Ultra Violet as the color of the year, our vote is for Cosmic Purple Carrot.
Before you hop in the car and rush in to see these yarns, they are brand new and slowly trickling in. While we have a bit of stock now, the bulk of it won’t arrive until after the first of the year. You can check out what’s to come on our website – we have it all loaded and ready to go.
In the interim I can tell you more about this fantastic company, and share several free patterns for Urth Yarns with you today.
Urth Yarns is a small family owned company. The yarns are dyed and prepared in small batches by women artisans in Turkey.
The company believes in giving back. Working in partnership with Trees for the Future, each skein of Urth Yarns plants a tree in Africa.
Urth Yarns also offers lots of free patterns! Click on the images below to download each pattern!
We absolutely love this beautiful Papillon Shawl, knit with 2 skeins of Uneek Fingering and 1 skein of Harvest Fingering. The pattern is available for purchase on Raverly, and you can join us for the Papillon class on Saturday, January 27.
Also mark your calendar for Saturday, February 3rd for our URTH DAY celebration. We’ll have the full line of Urth Yarns on display, and a fun party too. More details soon, but be sure to save the date! If you’re anxious to see the yarns now, some are in stock and more will be trickling in over the next several weeks.
