December 10: Mrs. Crosby
This year we were delighted to discoverĀ a kinship with the remarkable Mrs. Crosby. Her beautiful line of yarns inspired meĀ to create ourĀ Friends of Mrs. Crosby design collection.
These one-skein projects feature inviting stitch patterns, intriguing construction and many other designer details. Ā Coming up with new designs with Mrs. Crosby yarns is such a delight! I look forward to creating more in the new year.
My gift to you today is not just one, nor two, but the entire Friends of Mrs. Crosby design collection. Hurry, you need to download them today because this deal expires at midnight. (psst…click on the links below to download). This deal has expired – click on the links to purchase.
Yesterday’s round of Name that Yarn was a hoot. I really stumped most of you! During the spring/summer season it lives in the clawfoot bathtub, and this will be our 3rd season stocking this fabulous yarn.
It’s Berroco’s Modern Cotton. I’ll draw a winner from those who got it right. Check the comments on yesterday’s post to see the lucky winner.
Okay, I have another stumper for you today. The names I chose for our Friends of Mrs. Crosby weren’t random. I had my own convoluted naming system. It is a mash up of Downton Abbey titles with names fromĀ another very opposite source of inspiration. Anyone want to take a stab at guessing what this is?
If you can correctly identify whereĀ these names come from you can have any skein of Mrs. Crosby yarn your heart desires. Come in and pick a skeinĀ from any of the Mrs. Crosby yarnsĀ we have in stock. If we have more than one correct answer, we will draw one winner. This is a tough one, so I’ll be surprised if we get more than one right answer.
And if you attended our Guthrie Getaway and played this game at dinner with me then, please kindly disqualify yourself from this contest. It just wouldn’t be fair to the unsuspecting.

10.12.2015 at 00:47Well, I wasn’t at the Guthrie Getaway but I think all these names are character names on General Hospital. I love the Mrs. Crosby yarns. The colors are gorgeous and knit up so beautifully.

10.12.2015 at 12:33Well, I for one haven’t a clue, but thanks for the generous gift of the patterns! Can’t decide which to try first! Gotta love 24 days of SWAK!

10.12.2015 at 17:29After a Google search (but before looking at other answers), I too think the names are from General Hospital.
The patterns are great, Keely. I look forward to you designing something just as pretty in crochet!

10.12.2015 at 23:28Maybe General Hospital writers were fans of Sir Wallter Scott, too! Mystery, intrigue, murder, love found then lost, etc. etc…..you just get the whole story in an evening instead of a number of days, weeks, or years. I haven’t read the entire novel, just excerpts & summaries, but I believe the answer is……..THE BRIDE OF LAMMERMOOR! (aka ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’ a tragic opera)
Also, Keely, thank you for the wonderful free patterns. So happy for “The 24 days of SWAK!”
