Styles and trends come and go, but one thing that has remained constant over the years is the popularity of multi-color yarns. Whether they stripe, swirl, speckle, fade. . . yarns of many colors are always a hit. Here are three new colorful yarns we have in store for you!
An upsized version Millefiori, Berroco’s hit from last fall. Fun colors ebb and flow in random patterns to create a bold and happy fabric. Millefiori blends wool with acrylic for softness and stability with just a hint of shimmer. And we can always count on Berroco for outstanding pattern support:
All of the above patterns are featured in Berroco #392. I have a free pattern featuring Millefiori Big to share with you today, courtesy of Berroco. This quick-knit cowl takes just 2 skeins! Click here to get the pattern download.
Today we have THREE giveaways. One reader will win 2 skeins of Millefiori Big, with a copy of the pattern to knit this simple cowl. Simply comment with which color of Millefiori Big you’d like to win. You can see the Millefiori Big colors here.
A unique superwash wool from Queensland Yarns, featuring different colored plies twisted around each other with long and slow color changes. I recently adapted this tasseled entrelac shawl pattern for Brisbane.
We have a class scheduled for January 20th, where I’ll share techniques mom developed for entrelac. She was very particular with finished results, and refused to knit entrelac until she was able to adapt it to her standards. I will also have my pattern modifications available to anyone who purchases yarn to knit this shawl. It is originally designed for fingering weight, but turned out nicely in the heavier Brisbane. The Entrelac Shawl with Tassels pattern is available for purchase on Ravelry.
These are some other pretty Brisbane patterns available on Ravelry, requiring only 1-3 skeins.
And another lucky reader will win a skein of Brisbane and a free copy of the Helen cowl pattern. Leave a comment with the color of Brisbane you’d like to win. You can see the colors here.
This super bulky, single ply yarn is light as air! Noro’s brilliant self striping colors are simply scrumptious.
Both of these cute capelets are available as Ravelry downloads.
And Noro Magazine Issue 10 featured these fun Kureyon Air designs.
We also love this Rainbow Infinity Cowl that was featured in Noro Magazine Issue 11. We knit ours using a combination of Kureyon Air and Spud & Chloë Fine.
A third reader will win a the yarn and pattern to knit the Rainbow Infinity Cowl. Just tell us which color of Kureyon Air you would like to win, and we’ll help coordinate it with a contrasting skein of Fine for you. You can see the colors of Kureyon Air here.
