December 18: Baa

We love sheep! Without them we’d have no wool, plus they’re pretty darn cute.

Two little Jacob Sheep paid us a visit earlier this fall and that was really fun. Fortunately Mason didn’t ask Santa for a sheep this year. We don’t exactly live on a farm.

Mason and I love to watch Shaun the Sheep. It is a claymation television show from the UK. I have to admit, it is hilarious. So we were very glad to hear they are making a Shaun the Sheep movie.

So if you’re looking for something to watch with children that doesn’t make your head want to explode, I highly recommend this show. Here’s the upcoming movie trailer:

Unfortunately we’ll have to wait until spring before it hits the theaters. We usually take in a movie or two over Christmas break. I’ve already been informed we have to go see Big Hero 6. Have no clue what that is about, guess I’ll find out when we get there. And I’d like to go see Annie. I haven’t got to see anything but G and PG movies at the theater in years. Welcome to mommy-hood.
Today I have a couple of sheepy treats for you.
ONE
Two free patterns featuring Jacob sheep yarn from Red Farmhouse Fibers.

I want to see Big Hero 6. I agree with Mary on Scrooged. I am looking forward to the time when Cynthia will be old enough to sit through a movie.

I’m not big on going to movie theatres, but it is not Christmas until we watch Charlie Brown Christmas and Love Actually (it’s a little cheesy, but I love it!)

Christmas Vacation is the one movie we always watch at my house. Several years ago my daughter and I saw The Family Stone at the theater. When it came out on DVD she gave it to me for Christmas and we have watched and cried through it every Christmas since then.

OK, odd man out here – I watch all those old movies, but without the 1953 Christmas Carol with Alister Sim, it’s just not Christmas.
I also love, but seldom get to see Amahl and the Night Visitors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amahl_and_the_Night_Visitors.
Great libretto and the music is sublime! For those of you not ancient enough to remember, back at the dawn of time, when TV had only three channels and was only broadcast in black and white, Amahl and the Night Visitors was a very special production. Used to be able to find it around this time of year, but it’s getting harder to locate.

I’m not typically a fan of old movies, but I love Miracle on 42nd Street, the original one! Thanks for the patterns today, Keely!

    Shaun looks like fun!
We’re way behind on movies, and rarely go to the theater. Maybe over the holidays we’ll rent the 2nd of the Hunger Games movies, now that #3 is out.

I try to catch all the new holiday Hallmark movies, plus I have to watch “Rudolph” & “Frosty” with the granddaughters. Of course I watch “Christmas Vacation” with my husband. It’s his all-time favorite.
