December 2: Camelot

You don’t need a magic tree house to experience Camelot…the yarn that is.
We love Classic Elite’s unique take on a self striping yarn, combining light and dark shades in a single ply aran weight. The dyed fiber is actually blended as it is spun. Simply gorgeous!
This Saturday we’re offering a class in one of our favorite designs for Camelot. Warwick, a cardigan so short you’d wear it more like a shrug, is very cool to knit. It’s fairly easy and definitely not boring. Knit on the diagonal with short rows, Warwick is worked in two sections that are more like puzzle pieces rather than garment pieces.

These two very odd shaped pieces come together to form a super cute sweater. You sew three super easy garter stitch seams, attach buttons and you’re through!

Saturday’s going to be cold and wet, but it will be warm and cozy at SWAK.  Class is from 10 to 3, come and go. Come join us!
There are several great patterns for Camelot featured in Classic Elite’s Warm Woolies pattern booklet:

And today I’m happy to share several FREE patterns featuring Camelot, courtesy of Classic Elite Yarns. The knit boot cuffs and caps make great quick-knit gifts. There is also a crochet scarf featuring a mesh chevron stitch, and a cardigan knit sideways for a flattering vertical stripe. Oh I want to go to this class! I just love this pattern! I’ll have Walker(18 months) so I may not stay long. How many skeins does the sweater take?
