December 2: Tibetan Yak

You really must experience luxurious Tibetan yak – it is exquisite! As soft as cashmere, warmer than merino.
Embrace, 100% pure Tibetan yak down of the finest quality. The yarn blooms slowly with wear, creating a lovely halo of warmth that increases the unique quality of the item.
Reywa offers several 1-3 skein patterns featuring Embrace, complimentary with purchase of Embrace yarn.

Bloom, a blend of ultra-soft Tibetan yak down and the finest Chinese silk. This luminous lace weight yarn knits up into stunning finished pieces.
These beautiful shawls featuring Bloom are worked with 1-2 skeins, and are complimentary with purchase of Bloom yarn.

A Company with a Purpose:
Reywa Fibers reinvests their profits back into the Tibetan communities. The yak down for Reywa’s yarns is sourced from Tibetan communities across the Tibetan Plateau. Their roots are in non-profit community development, including educational sponsorship for children of impoverished families, and helping small village schools improve their resources.
The grazinglands of Tibet are undergoing a disastrous process of desertification. If left unchecked, destruction of the grasslands will destroy the nomadic lifestyle, causing countless families to go hungry as their herds of yaks starve. The founders of Reywa Fibers have partnered with nomad communities to replant large areas of grass, training the nomads in preservation with good success. Many of the previously barren lands have begun to sprout and grow again.
Reywa’s extraordinary yarns are such a treat to work with, and help bring hope and opportunity to Tibetan communities.

Today one lucky reader will win a skein of Reywa Embrace, 100% pure Tibetan yak down, along with three free one-skein patterns featuring Embrace. Simply tell us which color you’d like to win in the comment section (you can see the colors here), and we’ll select one winner. You have until midnight tonight.

Embrace is my choice! I’m trying to expand my wardrobe colors past all the blues.
Also, the very dark colors have become problematic for my eyes when knitting.
