December 4: Rowan Focus

Twenty-nineteen has been a most exciting year for Sealed with a Kiss, and one of the most thrilling things to happen was our transition into a Rowan Flagship store.

While we have heard some murmurings and concern that we would only stock Rowan yarns, one peek at all the offerings of yarn on our website will clearly show the diversity of yarns we stock from numerous companies other than Rowan. We are a big shop after all!

Rowan has dozens of yarns in an extensive range of shades, with a massive library of supporting patterns. No other company even comes close to depth and quality of design offered by Rowan. This is what makes Rowan exceptional, and we are honored to have been selected as an ambassador for this iconic brand.

We could focus on a different Rowan yarn for each day of the 24 Days of SWAK and not make it through their complete lineup. Today I have chosen to share Rowan’s two newest offerings with you.

Cashmere Haze

This exquisite blend of baby alpaca, cashmere, and silk was inspired by Rowan’s ever-popular Kidsilk Haze, This fluffy, lightweight yarn is available in a timeless range of neutrals. Sport/DK weight

Island Blend

Fine merino from the Falkland Islands, blended with baby alpaca and silk, creating insulating and cozy knits with a subtle sheen. A truly British offering made in the UK! DK/Light Worsted weight

Rowan Focus – Natural Fibres

Rowan did something a bit different this season. Magazine 66 is so big, they split it into two books: Bookbound and Rowan Focus. Both are available individually, or as a complete set.

Rowan Focus – Natural Fibres features fifteen designs for Cashmere Haze and Island Blend from designer Lisa Richardson. This collection of garments and accessories has something for all skill levels and styles.

Rowan Focus – Natural Fibers, along with the full color ranges of Island Blend and Cashmere Haze yarns, available in-store and online.

Today we’re giving away two skeins of Cashmere Haze, a skein of Island Blend, and a Rowan project bag from DellaQ to one lucky reader.

Simply leave a comment on this post sharing which Rowan yarn is your favorite. If you’re new to Rowan, let us know which one of their yarns you hope to try first!

You have until midnight tonight! Check back tomorrow to see who wins.

congratulations betty schlotthauer – you’re the winner of the rowan project bag filled with cashmere haze and island blend yarns!

Please note that all prizes must be picked up at our shop no later than February 1, 2020. We do not mail or ship prizes.

Impossible to pick just one…cashmere and alpaca blends always sound soft and yummy. The winter blue felted tweed screams Jack Frost winter scarf and the hillside green is nice too. I am curious about the cotton cashmere..spring weight scarf? Coral spice or dark olive catch my eye. The Oxford blue moordsle is an eye catching color and the island blend routemaster looks like a nice reddish shade. I bet they all feel soft in the hand too!
