I’ve never had the pleasure of working with Rowan yarns before. I’ve actually never heard of them until I found your store! I would like to try the Handknit Cotton or the Cotton Glace! Or whichever one you would recommend for Amigurumi/Crochet! ❤️

Wow! I’m using their fine now in a project. I’d like to try Kid Haze held double with a lace weight project and now you’ve got me interested in the Softyak DK! So much yarn, so little knitting time.

Oh man! Too many choices! But I would say a cotton, like cotton glacé, so I can make something for my sister, who’s allergic to wool.

Kidsilk Haze is my favorite Rowan Yarn. I have knitted their Colorplay Scarf and Wrap several times.
Would you suggest how to use it with the Franca pattern. I think I saw it done using KH and another yarn? This would be a treasure to win this prize.

I haven’t tried Rowan yarns, but I’ve always admired them. I love all the tweeds!

  • Tina Stone

    08.12.2021 at 12:51

I’ve got to say, I enjoy seeing the samples that I’ve contributed. I have many stories with respect to them as well as tales that happened while constructing them. As you know, some are bittersweet, but I will hold them all in my heart. So far, my favorite that I’ve worked with is the Soft Yak DK, the least is (believe it, or not) Island Blend. But the one I truly think about when not using Rowan yarns and wonder if it will work with what I’m doing is Felted Tweed. Not only do I like the weight of it, I like the wide range of colors and the tweedy look.

Rowan will always be my favorite yarn line! I knit my very first project, a scarf, in Big Wool. I made my first sweater from Felted Tweed, and I love what Kidsilk Haze does to any project! My next Rowan yarn is going to be Pebble Island. I haven’t tried Soft Yak DK yet, but I will! I don’t think I can pick one favorite!

I like the summerlite dk. I have made a sweater with it, and I use it for knitted knockers for women who have had a mastectomy because it is so soft and doesn’t irritate the incision.

What a hard choice…..hmmmm! I have not tried a lot of their yarns but of the ones I’ve tried soft yak is lovely.

I don’t want to be entered for the giveaway, thanks. But I did want to share that i’ve used Cotton Braid, Rowan Baby, Superwash Worsted, Creative Linen, and Merino Aria for projects — I didn’t realize until I checked my project library that I had used that many Rowan yarns! I think the Merino Aria was my favorite — so soft and fluffy and pretty! — and the Superwash Worsted is great for colorwork. Another thing I appreciate about Rowan yarns is the expansive colorways; interesting colors, and they all seem to “go” together.

I’m a sucker for yak, so would love to try the Softyak. I’d also like to try the Cotton Wool; it seems like a blend that would be wearable much of the year.
