December 8: Purely Sumptuous
Our top selling yarn this fall has been Organic Cotton Worsted from Blue Sky Fibers. This certified organic, pure cotton is environmentally friendly and naturally soft. New shades just arrived, adding a neutral and earthy palette to and already broad range of colors. We now have thirty solid shades in stock.
The accompanying design collection for this yarn does not disappoint. Stylish, yet classic.
We’ve had so many requests for the Camo Multi shade, we decided that we just had to have that too!
This ribbed hat would make a great gift for the guys (and gals) on your Christmas list and only takes one hank of Organic Cotton Worsted. I may just have to find the time to knit one of these for my fella!
Today we’re giving away a Camo Hat kit. Simply share what handmade gifts you’re giving this holiday season. (There’s no shame in just making stuff just for yourself either, not everyone is worthy!)
I’ll randomly select one lucky commenter and announce the winner tomorrow. You have until midnight tonight!

08.12.2016 at 00:54I’m giving a hat for the middle grandson (18 months), lovey with the puppy for the youngest grandson (age 7 months), an accessory pillow cover in a cable pattern enhanced with buttons, and several wash or dish cloths of which all items are knitted. I’m also embroidering a pillowcase with a police car for the oldest grandson (age 4). As soon as I’ve completed them (they’re all close to completion) I am hoping I’ll still have enough time to make a crib quilt for the youngest grandson. And I love the Camo Hat above. If I make one, I’ll probably have to make 4 more. Ohh I love the 24 days of SWAK!!!

08.12.2016 at 06:50No need to enter me in the drawing, just want to share what I’m making.
I don’t always knit for Christmas because I have to have things finished weeks ahead of time to ship — my parents, brothers and I all live in different states. I wasn’t planning on doing any Christmas knitting this year, but my friend, whom we’ll call T, was hospitalized for nine days last month and nearly died; so I am planning to knit prayer items for him and his wife, R. Since one generally doesn’t make a prayer shawl for a fellow, I invented the “prayer hat” for T: like me, he’s a Doctor Who fan, so I’m nearly finished with a TARDIS-themed hat for him using Canadiana yarn. Once that’s done, I’ll start on Melanie Berg’s “Delynn” shawl for R; it’s knit side-to-side, which I’m hoping will help a slow knitter meet a Christmas deadline. 🙂

08.12.2016 at 09:41I made a large quantity of mini mochi Christmas trees pins to give as gifts. I even managed not to burn myself with the glue gun this year.
As a kid friendly project, Cynthia is making felted soap for gifts.

08.12.2016 at 11:42I wasn’t going to make anything this year, but ended up making some cup cozies to be gifted with Starbucks gift cards for dirty Santa, and I think I’m going to attempt to make a quick hat and maybe a couple pairs of felted slippers. Oh, and I’m making a cowl for myself.
