December 9: Giving Back
You really must experience the Mirasol Yarn Collection!
The shepherds of the Peruvian highlands provide the finest of alpaca and wool fibers. Several of the world’s largest yarn distributors came together to form the Mirasol Company, with the goal of returning a portion of the profits back to Peru.
In turn, the company is able to construct boarding houses for the area schools. This allows the shepherd’s children to attend school without having to walk several hours each way.
A great company with a lovely purpose!
Our latest arrival from Mirasol is Ushya. This super chunky merino is available in a rainbow of beautiful shades.
This quick Slouch Hat makes a great last minute gift, takes only one hank of Ushya, and is a free pattern download!
We also love the way the Ushya pairs with Paqu Pura in Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton’s Clayton Cowl design.
Our friend Shawndalynn recently took our tunisan crochet class, and worked this adaptation of the Wingspan shawl in the Paqu Pura. It worked up beautifully! The Tunisian Wingspan pattern is a free Ravelry download, and takes only 2 skeins.
In the spirit of giving back, today we’re giving away a Ushya Hat kit!
Simply leave a comment telling us what color you’d like to win. Click here to see the available colors.
We’ll randomly choose one lucky winner. Comments close at midnight tonight.
