It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the passing of our co-founder and my mother, Sherry Stuever.
She was an amazing woman. The depth of her knowledge when it came to knitting technique was unmatched, and she loved sharing this knowledge with others through the countless classes and workshops she offered over the years.
You can read her full obituary here.
So that we may celebrate her life with family and friends, we will close early this Friday at noon. We will be open our regular hours on Saturday, and classes will not be affected.
Mom has been ill for some time with advanced COPD, and unable to teach for the past several years. She had a mild heart attack earlier this month, and I’ve been working out of an ICU room since. Although she was improving and expected to return home in a few weeks, her condition suddenly changed and she was unable to recover.
Anna, Lori and Kary have gone beyond the call of duty and kept things running smoothly at the shop in my absence. While I plan on being back in action beginning next week, I have a lot of catching up to do.
Additionally, I am the only help for my handicapped dad. My parents celebrated their 50th anniversary this past summer. She’s been by his side for 55 years – they’ve been together since mom was 15, so he is a bit lost without her.
For those of you who have sent condolences, thanks to all of you for thinking of us during this difficult time.
