Kaffe Fassett

Kaffe Fassett is known worldwide for his celebration of colour and pattern, a hallmark that feeds through to all his designs in knitwear, patchwork and needlepoint.

The most iconic knitwear designer of our time, Kaffe’s designs have been featured in numerous museum exhibits, most notably a one-man show at the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1988 – the first time for a living textile artist. The exhibition attracted such crowds that the Museum doubled attendance figures during the run and the exhibition toured to nine countries.

Kaffe has collaborated with numerous international fashion designers including MISSONI, Stuart Vevers of COACH, and Bill Gibb. Kaffe’s unique garments have been commissioned and collected by Barbra Streisand, Lauren Bacall, John Schlesinger, Ali McGraw, Irene Worth, Shirley Maclaine, Helen Frankenthaler, Alan Bergman and H.R.H. Princess Michael of Kent, to name but a few.

Brandon Mably

For over 25 years, Brandon has been the Studio Manager of Kaffe Fassett Studio in London England, and has worked closely with Kaffe in the design, creation, and execution of knitwear, tapestry, patchwork, mosaic, and mixed media artwork. While working side by side with Kaffe, Brandon has honed his unique style of bold design and vibrant colour.

Brandon travels throughout the world teaching workshops, learning from indigenous design styles, and finding inspiration from the people and communities he visits.

This past spring we were so excited to be selected as one of a small handful of venues to host Brandon for a series of workshops, but sadly was cancelled because of the pandemic. We are excited to at least to give you an exclusive peek into Brandon and Kaffe’s world!
