Another great trunk show arrived from Berroco. This one features Maya, a chainette blend of pima cotton and baby alpaca. Simply scrumptious!
All of these patterns are featured in the Maya, Vol. 2 pattern booklet.
We’ve noticed a new trend in sizing this season. Oversized is back! Many of the garments are featuring generous ease. Goodbye negative ease, can’t say I’m going to miss you.
The Modern Cotton trunk show has been held over until next weekend, so come check it out before it goes away. We stock all twenty-five colors of this fabulous yarn!

If you haven’t been in lately, you’ve been missing out on lots of excitement. Spring yarns and handbags are here, which are always fun. But we’ve had a rooster…
Yes, that’s a real live rooster. How many yarn shops offer barnyard animal exchange services? Annica needed a rooster, Cari had an extra…and that’s how we would up with a rooster hanging out with us on Tuesday.
Black EyeI’m on my second week of a black eye! This photo was taken only a few days in and it got far worse. Fortunately I’m on the mend.
No dramatic story here – I managed to do this to myself going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I keep forgetting I have it, and people keep giving me (and Keith!) strange looks.
If I look a little tired (on top of having a black eye), it may be because mom moved last week. My parents have lived in one of the big historic Guthrie homes for over 20 years. Since my dad now only has one leg and mom is on oxygen, moving out of their 3 story house was long overdue!
In the process I have acquired all of the family “stuff”, including photos going back over 100 years. It is going to take me forever to get it all sorted. I love looking at old photos, especially when the people are related to me. Check out this picture from the 1920’s!
The first five are my grandfather’s sisters, and the last three are sister-in-laws. This was taken the day of the fourth sister’s wedding at the family farm. I have boxes filled with photos like these.
Come in and see us! We have Knit with SWAK this Saturday. A great time to get help with a project, start something new, or just hang out.
We’ll also have a flash class on Grafting at 1pm. If you missed the Buttonhole class last week, we can do that too.
You never know what will happen at SWAK!
