More Manos! Manos del Uruguay Serpentina and the Golden Touch Cowl
We missed you last week but we hope you fared well in the snow and ice. We’re back this week and we’ve got a backlog of shipments to get through!
One of the things that came in this week is Manos del Uruguay Serpentina. Serpentina is a hand-dyed, handspun yarn. Each skein is unique, and the colors are totally random — they will not stack or pool. This worsted/aran weight superwash merino yarn is going to be a favorite – we can tell!
Serpentina
From Manos del Uruguay: Handspun from handpainted merino tops, Serpentina is a truly artisanal product. Each skein is unique, and the colors are totally random — they will not stack or pool. The ultra-soft superwash merino in a quick-knit gauge calls for next-to-the-skin wear like cowls and hats.
- 100% merino wool
- 142gm/130yd (100m)
- 16-17/4″ – size 7-8 (4.5-5mm) needle – Worsted/Aran
- Hand wash
We also got some new samples in! This week I’m wearing the Golden Touch Cowl, a FREE pattern from Manos del Uruguay that knits up in two skeins of Franca. The yarn is so, so soft and cozy and just look at that gorgeous texture. If you haven’t tried it, you NEED to make this cowl!

Franca
From Manos del Uruguay: Super-soft, super-warm, super-quick: Franca makes luscious knits in superwash merino with a beautiful, watercolor-inspired palette.
- 100% superwash merino
- 150gm/114yd (105m)
- 10/4″ – size 13-15 (9-10mm) needle – Super Bulky
- Superwash
We’ve also got photos of some of our other samples: Pensdale crocheted in Serena and and Evil Queen Shawl knit in Cabrito.

Next week we’re hoping for shipments from Lykke (our ballwinders and swifts)! We’ve got tons of great stuff on order and Rowan’s Spring Collection will be here March 15th. See you next week!
