New samples and what’s in the shop!
We’re more or less back to the waiting game on our new spring yarns this week!
But we did receive a new sample, the Flecha Cowl which knits up in one skein of Manos del Uruguay Serpentina (which is gorgeous!). This is a free pattern with interesting construction – we think it makes a fun knit and a great accessory!

Serpentina
from Manos del Uruguay:
- 100% merino wool
- 100gm/142yd (130m)
- 16-17/4″ – size 7-8 (4.5-5mm) needle – Worsted/Aran
- Hand wash
Handspun from handpainted merino tops, Serpentina is a truly artisanal product. Each skein is unique, and the colors are totally random — they will not stack or pool. The ultra-soft superwash merino in a quick-knit gauge calls for next-to-the-skin wear like cowls and hats.
We’ve got a few Lykke Swifts left, and more ballwinders and BLUSH sets on order – if you want to get on the waiting list give us a call!

Keely is wearing Amaryllis by Elizabeth Smith, which combines classic top-down, seamless construction with a flattering “wear with anything” A-line silhouette. It drapes beautifully with Serena from Manos del Uruguay.

Serena Semi-Solid
from Manos del Uruguay:
- 60% baby alpaca, 40% pima cotton
- 50gm/170yd(155m)
- 22-26/4″ – size 4-6 (3.5-5mm) needle – Sport/DK
- Hand wash
This season-spanning blend of pima cotton and baby alpaca has fantastic drape for scarves, wraps, cardigans, and summer tops. The fiber blend and our kettle-dyeing process give the colors a heathered, stonewashed look. Although it’s labelled as a sport- to dk-weight yarn, Serena’s gauge is very versatile, from 4 1/2 sts per inch all the way to 7. Try it for crochet, too!
