Playing with Color

We’ve been busy playing with color the past few weeks. Check it out!
These are skeins of mulberry silk from our Mariposa dye party. Everyone created a different combination of colors for their project, and the results are absolutely gorgeous!
Version 2
I have to admit, it is difficult to get much work done with all these beautiful skeins hanging in my office. They keep distracting me!
Here’s the final product, wound onto special cones and ready to knit.
If you’re kicking yourself for missing out on this incredible project, don’t fret. We’re taking sign-ups for a second group starting now through June 15.
For the full skinny about this project, go back and read my post about the Mariposa Project from last fall.
If you’d like to know more about the design process in creating the Mariposa design, I shared the behind the scenes process back in December. Check that out too.
The deadline to sign up is June 15. It will take about 6-8 weeks to receive the yarn (pending no longshoreman strikes or customs issues that plagued our first go-round), then we’ll schedule a date for a dye party. I estimate this will be sometime in August.
Hope you will join us!
