Presenting Miss Barrett

We’ve added a new character to our Friends of Mrs. Crosby pattern collection. It is our pleasure to introduce Miss Barrett.
Miss Barrett
This top-down raglan features fetching stripes and a simple tie front. Worked in Steamer Trunk, a superwash merino that honestly will fool you. If you didn’t know better, you’d swear you were working with cotton. It knits and feels divine!

The design is derived from the Top-Down Raglan Design Workshop we offered back in January. But don’t fret! We’ve done all the design work for you, and have it all put together in a sweet little pattern.
We have a little behind the scenes peek at the design process for you today. One might imagine it was filled with color, fiber, and beautiful sketches. Alas, the reality looks more like this:

It’s one thing to jot down notes as to how I made the sample, but turning it into a pattern complete with multiple sizes and yardage requirements is an entirely different thing! Let’s just say my math skills and accounting degree come in quite handy.

One of my favorite features of this design are the front ties. I put a lot of thought into these, in that I wanted them to hang nicely and not pull on the edging. I developed a cool way of attaching them for the perfect front tie.
This design knits quickly and the result is quite stunning! Pattern available in-store or as a Ravelry¬†download. Come meet Miss Barrett in person, I really think you’re going to like her!
