Instructions
In a large saucepan, add boiling water to the cocoa powder, sugar and salt. Stir to combine. Add milk and heat until warm, but not boiling.
You can either add a half cup of cream to cool, or top with whipped cream. I prefer whipped cream! Makes 4 cups.
Tips
I keep a container of the dried ingredients on hand so I can have hot chocolate on demand!
I’m not a big fan of canned whipped cream. Fresh whipped cream is so easy to make in your mixer. With the whip attachment add a small amount of cream, and a sprinkle of sugar. Whip on high until fluffy and firm.
